Betty’s Hope is a historical site in Antigua, known for being one of the first and largest sugar plantations. It played a significant role in the island’s history, relying on enslaved labor for sugar production. Today, it stands as a museum and reminder of the Caribbean’s colonial past.

Many visitors come to Betty’s Hope to explore the ruins of the old sugar mill, the windmill tower, and other remnants of the plantation’s infrastructure. Limited Time, Maximum Beauty: Halfmoon Bay in our 5-Hr Tour Package

For this stop, the tour takes you to the most eastern tip of the island, where you’re welcomed by one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Half Moon Bay. The beach is aptly named due to its crescent moon shape. Its pristine white sand and turquoise waters create a stunning tropical oasis. Don’t forget to have your camera ready during the drive there, as the scenery along the way is equally breathtaking. If time permits, the tour may make a stop at the lookout point at Willoughby Bay, providing an opportunity to capture more picturesque views. Along the route, you’ll also pass by Freetown, an historically significant town that was one of the first settlements for emancipated slaves. Due to the Halfmoon Bay beach’s more remote location, it’s advisable to take some provisions with you, such as snacks, water, and beach essentials, as there are limited facilities like restaurants or shops in the immediate vicinity.

The duration of the tour is flexible, allowing guests to choose between 4 to 6 hours, according to their preference.

The tour is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but please note that it is not available on public holidays.

Terms for Cancellation

  • Guests must cancel their tour at least 36 hours before the scheduled date to receive a refund, subject to a small administrative fee of 5%.
  • For cancellations made between 36 to 25 hours before the scheduled tour date, a penalty of 20% will apply.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled tour date will incur a penalty of 50%.
  • In the case of a “No Show,” a 100% penalty will be applied.
